Steve Hitchcock’s practice involves the negotiation, drafting and monitoring of cable, DTH and broadcast agreements for several companies affiliated with NHK Japan Broadcasting Corporation. These agreements facilitate the distribution of NHK programming in the U.S. and throughout the world. Mr. Hitchcock also represents NHK and NHK’s affiliated companies in regard to regulatory matters within the jurisdiction of the United States Federal Communications Commission.
Inspired by the landmark Telecommunications Act of 1996, Mr. Hitchcock began practicing communications law that year with Technology Law Group, a Washington DC communications boutique. Mr. Hitchcock represented wireline and wireless resellers in litigation and arbitration disputes against AT&T and MCI, as well as on regulatory matters within the jurisdiction of the FCC and state commissions. Mr. Hitchcock then moved to Bell Boyd & Lloyd in Washington, DC, where he addressed regulatory and transactional issues in the wireline, wireless, satellite, broadcast and cable sectors.
